Taking care of what needs taking care of
I woke up this morning with my mom's voice in my head, "This place looks like a cyclone struck it!" and "Looks like the wreck of the Hesperus!" which means... today must be the day to clean the house, wash everything, air it out. The doors, and windows are wide open, it's 76F at 10am. D. is mowing the yard, and I'm scrubbing the floors. It has to get done.
Here is my favorite picture of my mom circa 1972(?), she was 50, and I was 2. Very expeditious stack of biscuits there (as Keillor would say). This photo was taken at our "camp" our Father built on Vinalhaven. Taken by my brother Greg, who has recently returned from the Peace Corps. (Malawi), and is probably now trying to figure out what to do next (at age 60? can this be?).

This yard needs tending to! All the plants need a good going over!

To make up for no skirt today, I'll have a two for tuesday. How about that?

La Jupe du Jour
The skirt of the day is a real hit! Thank you, all. It's great fun for me. There was a nice new brick red color with the same print that seems to be well loved. After this batch, I'll have to find a new direction, maybe linen with a border? We'll see.
And, to answer a popular question, I seem to be finishing the skirt up, and posting by 1p.m. pacific.

France! Jupes!
I am going to France at the end of May to work at the cooking school where I was last June. It is called "A week in Provence". It is in a hamlet called St. Pons with the nearest town being Nyon. The Chef Instructor (Daniel Bonnot) is superb, and very, very funny. FUN!

So, on Etsy, I will post a skirt everyday to get to the Marais.

(not in the Marais, but a nice building!)
