Linen Dress

I have posted a batch of the linen dresses on Etsy.
This will be the last ETSY post of this dress.
After, it will go into the catalog (and, it will be a bit pricier).

found

i tried to organize my notebooks this weekend. i went through sketch books and found these lines. some things came to materialize, and some have not. i hope they will. and, someday, there will be a switch plate cover. life in progress.
we went out for a beautiful hike on the santa ynez trail, watched movies, and drew pictures of birds.

Dark Brown Linen Dress

linen dress going to Lisa. she's also getting a pair of the indigo trousers, and the two colors are beautiful together (like a rothko).

Sunday, March 15

brown, yellow, grey, white, black

i hope to be making some pieces out of this group of material. this was the color story for summer, but there doesn't seem to be enough of these colors at the fabric shop to make a collection. so, i went through bins of material that i have, and i can make one-offs from this. i like these colors together as a foundation with another color thrown in, a blue or an odd green. we'll see what happens.

etsy of the week - year of the goat

Hand-spun, hand-dyed, hand-knit tunic sweater from Etsy shop Year of the Goat. This sweater is gorgeous, and warm, and soft. The design of it is inspired, and the texture is beautiful. This sweater was sitting in my Etsy favorites for a long time, and it just may be one of the most viewed Etsy items, almost 13,000 views!

Lois, and Paul

Happy birthday to my sister, Rev. Lois Dorr Coppola, and to my brother Capt. Paul Webster Dorr. They were born a year apart on the same day. Lois celebrated her ordination this past September after years, and years, and years of schooling while raising her family. Paul is a rugged world traveler, and appreciator of fine things. He cooks on the schooner during the summer, and travels as much as he can throughout the winter.
Happy birthday, Paul! Happy birthday, Lois! We love you!

illness

i haven't been able to sew these past few days. i've been blowing my nose.

sewing, sewing, sewing

vintage stripe top and stripe silk shorts going to Lisa.

tog shirt and indigo trousers going to Allison.

thank you, thank you!

Japanese style pants (via le bouton catalog)

here is an on me picture of the Japanese style pants. the pants in these images are the original wool stripe of last year, so they've been worn, and washed. i washed them hot because i like my pants a little above the ankle, and they shrank up a bit. the fit of these pants is slim through the body, hip and thigh. straight down through to the hem. the dropped crotch panel is noticeable, but not exaggerated. it is there to allow a wide stance when practicing tai chi. there are no outer side seams. can be worn with the tie in the front or back. if you have any questions email me!
