linen dress

i love this blue. i hope p. likes it too.
and, i just finished with another mandala tunic dress (for r.) i'll take a picture of it tomorrow, and post it in the catalog, and here.

productivity

we're back in the swing of things.

new space

this is our new office space. it's the room where i've been taking all the clothing photos, so you can see how it has changed a bit!it's great to have the computer off the kitchen/dining table. the ceiling in this room is 16 ft with a large square sky light. a perfect light box for photos, it would also be a great painting studio...

summer weight broad shirt

the summer weight broad shirt is now in the catalog. it's a very fine cotton, white, with a woven stripe.

re-entry

frances was home from school yesterday. head cold, small fever. we had an excellent week together, and going back to school is kind of sad/happy. while we were away, d. put the bedroom together, and it's beautiful. it's filled with light, and the door going outside lets in a cool breeze, and view of very green vegetation. it was 98F here yesterday! i need to make those linen dresses...
it's great to be back.

last bit before vacation

it's almost noon here in california. getting ready to draw the name!
here's a 2 tuck dress in brown, and styled with a weaver's smock (etsy) over.
i'm back on friday, and i'll be sewing saturday. the linen dresses will be in the post next week. until then!

spring raffle time!

this week has really flown by! i've managed to get about 1/2 done as of today. that might mean some late night sewing ahead. next week is 100% frances time.
so, as i was sewing this morning, i thought, it's time for another give-away. however, i can't think of a question! so i'm going to draw a name from a hat, simple. just comment on this post with your name, and if i draw your name you will have your choice of either the new linen sundress, or the linen 2 tuck dress. is that good? FUN!

OPERATION: sew

we just waved bon voyage to frances, and papa. they are on their way to san francisco (via yosemite) for the first half of spring vacation.
it's 10:15 am tuesday. from now until 10:15 monday, it will be sewing marathon. i will be caught up before i take frances on our week's vacation. still planning! i will post some new pieces in the catalog, and etsy.

top image, a back pleat shirt made in white cotton with a woven stripe. (difficult to see the stripe). and, a new style of pants. a bit wide legged, and cropped, tapering in at the ankle. inverted pleats at the front and back, and tucks at the ankle. grey linen.
next images, a vintage linen print with a vibrant medallion/mandala design. cut like the "linen dress" with short sleeves. hand hemmed, and french seams. and, a pair of pants in the japanese style made in grey linen.
