A little Paris

my comrade, briane. as seen in our hotel/hostel room, appearing forlorn under the eave. this place was such a find (thank you briane!). if one is not opposed to a very clean shower, and wc in the hall, it was 26euro a night (each), and in the marais. we had room 17, top floor, with two beds, and a sink, and a desk. fantasies of writing a short novel seemed to be included. it can be noisy with street noise, but not neighbor noise. and if a group went, try to reserve rooms 15,16,17. contact me if you'd like more information. also, there's a coffee shop around the corner called "coffee union" that is a coffee to go joint (shock!gasp!). i confess to going every morning, i truly love walking with coffee.

pilgrimage...

last year, i stayed on this street (rue keller), and i walked by this restaurant daily. i kind of fell in love with it, but i never went in. there was a pretty glow and a tiny bar at the entrance, and laughter would tumble onto the street. i had read a review that spoke of how lovely the owners are (husband, and wife). so, briane and i went on our last night. i wish it hadn't been our last night! the place is charming, and warm. please, go if you are in paris, and have the duck salad, and some wine, and you'll walk out under their spell. Le Petit Keller. 13 rue Keller. www.lepetitkeller.com

this is a bar that the owner of Le Petit Keller very highly recommended. it's happening, as you can see. it was one of the very few places that didn't seem to be revolving around euro cup soccer. stylish crowd, and a humid evening.

I am also green. It's getting close to twenty years since I was in Paris (gasp!!) and I daydream of it often. I'll have to make some plans for next year I guess.

A l'annee prochaine. (Oh and my French is dwindling too, si triste!)

The Isabel Marant stores were my favorite part of our trip to Paris this year. The Marais location was especially wonderful.

the keller was my favorite restaurant when i lived in paris. i went there weekly- such friendly people and a great deal. the perle is quite trendy and has been for some time. i used to work in a restaurant next door which they took over...
